Our gemstones are ethically and sustainably sourced, with a focus on artisanal mining that supports both the environment and local communities. We work in alignment with the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) standards, ensuring our partners maintain high ethical standards, from labor practices to environmental protection. Some of our suppliers go beyond these standards by reinvesting their profits into preserving indigenous habitats and acquiring additional land to prevent mining in ecologically sensitive areas. These reclaimed lands are then preserved, reflecting our commitment to protecting the natural world for generations to come.

For Rafu Appu, sustainability goes beyond green technologies. Our design philosophy celebrates the beauty of each piece, ensuring it is appreciated and treasured for a lifetime – or even across multiple generations. The materials we use are carefully selected not only for their beauty but for their ability to stand the test of time. Each design is intentionally created to be durable, timeless, and versatile, reducing waste and using nature’s resources responsibly, once, and in a way that honors their intrinsic value.

Our approach to sustainability also includes waste reduction. We actively engage in waste management practices that minimize our environmental impact, ensuring every step of our process respects the delicate balance of nature. From our metals to our gemstones, we use what is needed, and we rework and repurpose materials whenever possible - be it in crafting jewellery or in fitting a store or workspace – avoiding unnecessary consumption.
